PTEN, also known as MMAC1 or TEP1, is a tumor suppressor gene located in the human chromosome 10q23. The gene-coded phosphatase regulates the process of cell cycle and apoptosis. The study found that the absence and mutation of PTEN is exist in many tumor and hereditary tumor vulnerable syndrome in humans. Besides ,the prognosis of patients was related to the expression of PTEN in glioma, breast cancer and prostate cancer.
