EGFR is a member of the ErbB family, which consists of four closely related receptor tyrosine kinase subunits, including EGFR, her-2 neu, her-3, and her-4. The overexpression of malignant epithelial tumors, such as EGFR, indicates poor prognosis, as well as in breast cancer, the overexpression of EGFR predicts short survival and poor hormonal efficacy.
