Annexin A1 is a member of a family of Ca ion-dependent phospholipid-binding proteins with molecular weights of 35-40 kDa. This antibody is strongly expressed in the thin films of tumor cells and rarely in the cytoplasm of expressing tumor cells in 97% of hairy cell leukemia cases.
Specific and sensitive primarily for hairy cell leukemia.
Also commonly used in the differential diagnosis of hairy cell leukemia from other B-cell lymphomas.
